Working of SMS Union

The SMS union connects two sections of sanitary piping using a welding male end on one side and a welding liner or end cap on the other, with a gasket seal positioned between them. The round slotted nut is tightened over the joint, drawing the two halves together and compressing the gasket against the square section joint ring to form a leak-proof seal. To disconnect the union for cleaning or maintenance, the nut is simply unscrewed, allowing the pipe section to be removed without disturbing the neighboring pipework.
